A man is missing after entering a London river following a police chase.
A huge number of police and ambulances are present in Tottenham after the man disappeared.
At around 9pm police began following men riding mopeds in the parts of Hackney and Tower Hamlets in North East London.
The pursuit ended close to the rivers and reservoirs on Ferry Lane in Tottenham.
Two men were arrested but another ended up in the water.
A police helicopter, a drone and two large floodlights were used in the search, in which emergency service workers dredged the lock.
MPS Harringey tweeted: “Police are dealing with an incident in the area of Ferry Lane, Tottenham.
“At around 21.15hrs a male was seen to enter the water.
“He has not been seen since and an urgent search of the area is being undertaken…
“This followed a police pursuit from the Hackney/ Tower Hamlets area of a number of males riding mopeds.
“They made off on foot in Ferry Lane. Two males were arrested and remain in police custody.
“Officers continue to work at the scene – cordons are in place.”
A nearby resident witnessed the huge emergency service presence build up from 9.25pm.
He said large flood lights were erected on the river’s banks ten minutes later.
At around 10pm fire engines arrived followed by a helicopter overhead, which hovered for close to 90 minutes.
Twenty minutes later efforts began to dredge the lock, while an emergency services drone was flown above the area to assist with the search.
